Gangster rap was ubiquitous in the mid 90s. Gangster rappers like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac and more were most known for perpetuating rivalries with their gritty gangster raps. Saying Psychopathic Records group ICP is a gang is wrong on many levels, but lets start with the reason that they are not because ICP sounds nothing like any of these gangster rappers.
Fast forward 15 or so years. Where has the gangster rap gone? Its certainly not in the mainstream. Today, our billboard charts are loaded with R&B and other Pop genres. Very rarely has there been a chart topping mainstream rap song in recent memory to epitomize the true meaning of gangster rap.
However, that hasnt stopped culturally out-of-touch government agencies like the FBI to label other rappers as gangster rappers in gangs. Yes, believe it or not, the FBI sincerely believes that Psychopathic Records horror rap juggernaut Insane Clown Posse and their fan base are part of one not so elaborate gang.
Do you think Psychopathic Records artist ICP is a gang? If youre a Juggalo, obviously not. You know better. But if youre new to the topic, its ok to be a little unsure. Continue reading to see why the FBI is wrong in thinking that ICP is a gang.
First of all, if ICP is a gang than theyre the smallest gang there ever was, because the ICP “gang” consists of 2 people: Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope. Who the FBI were trying to accuse of being part of a gang are ICPs fan base, the Juggalos, who also enjoy music by other Psychopathic Records artists.
However, that said, theres still no way that a network as large as the Juggalos could be a functioning gang. Not only do they not listen to gangster rap, but saying Juggalos are a gang would be like saying teenagers are a gang.
Psychopathic Records may spawn some interesting artists whose lyrical content is focused on morbid topics like murder and suicide, but they are never serious. Furthermore, these Psychopathic Records who jokingly rap about these topics never include any gangster rap ideology in their lyrics.
Additionally, if a Juggalo did commit murder after listening to a song performed by a Psychopathic Records artist, it would be impossible to prove that a powerful ICP “gang” provided any motivation, especially because the band themselves is clearly not a gang.
The funniest accusation in the FBIs report is that the ICP “gang” communicates via social media, and are especially suspicious because they are transient by nature. The FBI could have answered their own question here the fact that Juggalos are “transient” really just means that they are normal people who move about and are not confined to one particular geographic area.
Saying ICP is a gang with Juggalo members would be no different than claiming that Nirvana and its fans were one giant gang in the early 90s!

Oprah Winfrey As one of the most successful talk-show hosts in the world, there is no question that Oprah needs to maintain her physical appearance for her millions of audiences. Known as one of those celebrities who are constantly battling weight gain, she has recently toned up her figure and has never looked figure in age 50 by combining a regular exercise regime and diet plan. Oprah works out five days a week, spending 30 minutes on the threadmill and doing free weights. Her eating plan consists of legumes, fish, nuts, fruits and vegetables, chicken and dairy products that are lowfat. She limits her consumption of white sugar and flour. Oprah also credits her trim figure to her habit of not eating anything after seven in the evening.
4. Gwyneth Paltrow A lot of people may find it hard to believe that the perpetually slim Academy award-winning actress actually needs to diet. Gwyneth actually follows a healthy eating plan that resembles Oprah’s, avoiding sugar and white flour. She usually follows a macrobiotic diet, eating foods like vegetables, brown rice, and lean meat. She also eliminated dairy from her diet, and does yoga everyday.
5. Madonna The pop star known as the Material Girl has always flaunted a body that is to die for, and has become a true fitness paragon over the years. She keeps herself in tip-top shape by having Ashtanga Yoga, and follows a strict diet that mostly shuns junk foods. She adopted a macrobiotic eating plan that includes organic foods rich in lean protein.
6. Claudia Schiffer The bodacious German supermodel eats salad and steamed vegetables for dinner and eats only fruits before the afternoon. While on locations, she prefers to eat black grapes and drinks tomato juice and herbal tea.

Celebrities are just like ordinary people. They need to maintain their figures just like anyone else, and there is more pressure on their part since they are constantly in the public eye. Ordinary folks can have celebrity-like bodies, too, and by following these diet and fitness plans, they can also look like red-carpet worthy.

Many people I know believe that in order to be truly artistic a person has to be an artist. They must paint, draw or take brilliant photographs to have artistic talent. While These traits may make someone an artist, I believe that it takes something entirely different to be artistic. It is possible for literally anyone to live in ways that are artistic.
One of the most important aspects of being an artistic person is to be confident in yourself. Lack of self-confidence does not get anyone very far in living creatively. Look for positive qualities about yourself and dwell on those. If you think you are good at a particular activity you should practice it to become even better.
Think about the things you love to do most. I suggest that you can be artistic doing just about anything. Whether you love to sew, cook, or play soccer, you can do things in a way that is artistic and intriguing.
One of my favorite things to do is garden. I used to not think much about the way that I arranged or tended my garden. However, recently I have begun to see gardening in a whole new way. I have realized that I can arrange my flowers and plants in creative ways. I can care for them with tenderness and help them to grow to their highest potential. I have learned that being artistic is more about perspective than it is about what is actually being done.
Being artistic is all about seeing the world creatively and allowing yourself to do the things you enjoy and enjoy the things you do. Consider how you can do your favorite things in new ways. Think about how preparing a meal can become more than just cooking food. Look for ways to incorporate beauty and fine detail into your food and into your presentation. Being artistic is about going a step further than what is typical. If you love to play a sport, look for ways to play that sport with energy and grace. Almost anyone can hit a volleyball over a net, but few people can do it in a way that looks unique and graceful.
You will never be artistic in anything unless you are enjoying yourself. Don’t take life too seriously, but instead, look for ways to have fun and relax no matter what the circumstance.
VOICEOVER ARTIST RADIO STATION IMAGING
by David Kaye
I do a lot of radio imaging.
Many people call it “Radio Station Imaging,” or as I like to call it, “Promotional Branding and Station Identification.”
In this realm of the business, it is important to make sure that you’re set up as a proper company, that you’re a business. It is not a fly-by-night deal by any stretch of the imagination.
You’d better have the equipment. You’d better be prepared to work a lot and take care of your voice, because radio stations like to use you a lot.
In a contract, traditionally you’re committed to recording a page or two a month, whatever your agent negotiates, or whatever you negotiate for yourself. They’ll stretch that out. They’ll try to get as much as they possibly can out of a page. So radio station voice imaging is little bits and pieces and stuff and there is a page and stuff.
Typically, on a Monday or Friday a bulk of stuff will come in. That’s just the nature of the business.
The business has changed over the years, especially because of the Internet. There’s not as much money flowing around as it used to be. Some of the big companies are changing hands. We all know how that’s gone. The economy is different. But stations are still spending money on station voices. They are still going out and searching for them.
When someone listens to the radio station, in their head they’re hearing the imaging person the voice as the owner. If you’re hired to be the voice of a radio station, you’re that station’s identifier. You represent that station. It is a big responsibility. It’s not just, “You know, I do the voice.” No, that’s the sound of the station. So think of yourself as the radio station’s boss.
So if you’re going to be voicing stuff for radio stations, note that, first of all, the business has changed. There are even more opportunites now because there is satellite radio. There still are revenue stream issues, but if you want to get into it there is places you can put your voice. There are Internet radio stations.
You can do a lot of marketing on your own on the Internet to radio and TV stations. But be prepared to be a business. You’re a businessman. They want to hire you. They want you available. They want you versatile, and there is a certain style you need to keep in mind.
There are perimeters to being a radio imaging voice. So that means listening to what’s out there now, listening to what’s out there in the past, and maybe developing your own style…but within the perimeters. You’re selling the station. You are the station’s voice. That’s a big responsibility.
Are you an independent hip hop artist wanting to promote yourself on the Internet?
Online, people are not going to be typing your name in the search engines to find you unless your a celebrity who as already made it. You must know how to strategically promote yourself.
Here is how you can attract new fans.
First, build a single page website. This website should be a single page website that serves one pupose, to get people to subscribe to your mailing list or fan club as most sites would call it.
This web page should have a sample of your music. The page should also invite them to join your mailing list to get more samples of your work. 1-3 Full-length songs.
Once they get on your mailing list, you can offer to sell them your full album at a discount. Make it a one-time-offer that is automatically presented new subscribers right after they opt-in to your mailing list.
You should have an autoresponder mailing list in place that sends out a sequence of follow-up messages, so that your fans don’t forget who you are. You can simply share some background information with them, and other personal information that you don’t mind revealing.
Sharing personal information helps to develop a relationship with your new fans, so that they begin to know, like, and trust you. Every time you release a new album you have an established fan base that you can email.
You can also email them other hip hop related products. Most of your fans will be hip hop artists themselves. There are affiliate programs that pay you commissions to promote their hip hop related products to your fans.
Royalty free hip hop beats and hip hop beat making software are affiliate programs I promote to my mailing lists on a hip hop site I am currently joint venturing with my sister on.
You can also promote hip hop cd’s from Amazons affiliate program or some other music site with an affiliate program. Hip Hop clothes, dance videos, and information products, are yet a few other products you can promote.
So above and beyond your own album, you can cash in on your mailing lists passion for everything hip hop.
Once you grow you mailing list large enough, you will be able to generate thousands of dollars with the click of a button just by sending out an email broadcast promoting your new album or a new affiliate product!
With your own hip hop related niche site, you get to follow your passion, and get paid for it. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Let’s play Paparazzi for a second and see which celebrities prefer eco-friendly, lab diamonds to mined diamonds. Rumor has it that Gwyneth Paltrow, Minnie Driver, and Angelina Jolie are among the environmentally conscious. They have been seen wearing synthetic diamonds to gala events.
Lab Diamonds Are Ethical
The reason behind their decision is not based on appearance alone. Sure, synthetic diamonds look just like natural diamonds. The desire to wear these lab-grown beauties has more to do with ethics. Because of the unethical way some diamonds are obtained, many celebrities have make a conscious decision to avoid buying them at all costs.
Conflict Diamonds Are Responsible For Civil Rights Violations
As a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN, Angelina Jolie speaks out against human rights violations. Her humanitarian efforts have assisted those struggling in war-torn countries. The last thing that a person in her position would want to do is wear a conflict diamond from a place like Sierra Leone. It would go against everything she was worked so hard to accomplish.
Some Reasons Why Synthetic Diamonds Are So Appealing
There are a number of reasons why lab diamonds appeal to celebrities. First and foremost, they look beautiful and can be put into almost every type of setting. It doesn’t matter if it’s silver, gold or white gold, the stones look amazing as earrings, pendants, bracelets, and rings. They can even be placed into antique settings that are inherited or purchased from antique stores and online dealers.
Next, celebs are all about being eco-friendly. They don’t want to support practices that wreak havoc on the environment or put people’s lives in danger. It is a known fact that conflict diamonds help support violent and illegal activities. They also are the reason why in parts of Africa, entire tracts of land have been devastated, local water sources have been poisoned, indigenous populations have been forced to relocate, and removed the community’s primary source of livelihood has been completely eliminated.
Last but not least, they, like other people, enjoy getting a bargain. Lab-grown diamonds have the same look, appeal, and clarity as natural diamonds. The biggest difference is that they don’t have an enormous price tag affixed to them. This allows individuals from all walks of life to be able to own and enjoy them.
Lab Diamonds Dress Up Any Outfit
You’ll see singers, writers, actors, actresses, professional athletes, and reality TV stars with lab diamonds around their wrists, necks, and fingers. In fact, it isn’t nothing unusual to see a celebrity wearing a stunning piece of jewelry filled with synthetic diamonds. You may see him or her walking around in jeans or wearing a baseball hat. Truth be known, these exquisite, conflict-free diamonds are every bit as luxurious as natural diamonds. That’s why they can dress up even the most casual outfit as demonstrated by the fabulous men and women that wear them.
Finding the perfect voice for your project can seem like an overwhelming task. The voice talent must be able to convey the correct emotion for the script, sound authoritative and knowledgeable, communicate and pronunciate clearly, and fit the subject and audience. Here are three steps to help you find the right voice-over actor or actress for your project.
Determine your needs.
Before you begin listening to demos and sifting through resumes, determine what exactly youll need from the talent. Do you need to find local talent that you can communicate with face to face, or can you hire someone that works remotely? Both options have their pros and cons. Some producers prefer to sit in on recording sessions so they can give notes and make suggestions. This can be especially beneficial if youre dealing with a highly technical or scientific script that contains hard to pronounce words or acronyms. However, attending recording sessions can lead to scheduling problems and giving too many notes can increase session time and costs. Many VO artists prefer to work remotely and deliver files over the Internet. Remote work is typically less expensive and has a faster turnaround, but carries the risk of getting reads you are unhappy with or that must be redone because of errors.
Consider the audience and subject.
As you begin your search for the right voice-over actress or actor think about the message you are trying to convey and the audience that will be listening. Do you need a fun and bubbly voice, or a stern and serious voice? Would a caring, tender voice send the wrong message? How about a distinguished, scholarly sounding voice? A voice-over actor that is perfect for a law enforcement training video is probably not going to be the best voice to narrate a childrens book, and differences like this should definitely be considered. Think about dialect and accent too. Sometimes the right accent or dialect can add a sense of familiarity or relateability with your particular audience, other times an accent might seem less approachable or trustworthy.
Listen to demos.
Once you have an idea of the type of voice youre seeking start listening to voice-over talent demos. Well regarded and professional VO actors and actresses will certainly have a variety of high quality material to show. Listen in to the demo material and evaluate the subtle qualities of each narrators voice. Do they speak clearly and are the easy to understand? How is the pace of their read? Is it too fast or slow? Does their pace match the subject matter?
By breaking down the process into easy steps finding the perfect voice can be easy, and having the right voice for your production will help you better connect with your audience and convey your message.
Sports paintings allow fans and athletes to save a moment in time and remember it forever. Sports art collectors, myself included, usually immediately think of a framed photograph to hang on our wall, which usually include an autograph by the player as well. As a matter of fact, a picture was the only kind of sports artwork that Id even known about, aside from memorabilia such as a bat, baseball, hockey stick or jersey. This was before I saw the sports paintings by sports artist Adam Port.
In 2006, Port was featured on The Best Damn Sports Show Period on Fox Sports. He presented former Detroit Piston basketball player, and then co-host of the show, John Salley, with one of his famous basketball paintings. The artwork spoke for itself, as did Salleys reaction, which is typically the same for everyone – staring in amazement as they realize that its a painting, not a picture.
Salley isnt the only athlete to have this reaction. Port has created football paintings for Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens, Justin Tuck of the New York Giants, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks (although he was on the Denver Nuggets at the time of the painting), Rod Gilbert of the New York Rangers, Michael Jordan and John Stocktons Basketball Hall of Fame induction class, and most recently, a recreation of the Charles M. Conlon pictures, which were turned into baseball paintings. The Conlon paintings once again had Port featured on Fox Sports, This Week in Baseball.
After seeing Ports sports art, I now consider paintings of sports just as much as an option as a picture, stick, puck, bat, ball or jersey. As a matter of fact, Ports sports paintings are like nothing Ive ever seen before. They are so realistic that you might never be able to tell that its a painting until youre told, or youre standing face to face with it.
If youre a sports fan, sports art collector or an athlete you must see Adams artwork. Maybe you have no interest in sports at all, but youre an artist, or maybe youre not even an artist, you still should take a look at his sports paintings.
